Union Budget 2024:
1st February 2024, the Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is going to announce an interim budget ahead of the 2024 parliamentary election. This will be a vote-on-account budget for the government before the election and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will announce her 6th budget including five annual budgets and one interim. This union budget will be special for the Modi government since this union budget will the government to spend amounts on citizen till the formation of the new government after Loksabha election which is scheduled to take place between April/May this year.
Here we will discuss the key expectations of the citizen of India from the union budget 2024. This budget is scheduled to be presented on 1st February from 11 AM by the Union Finance Minister Niramala Sitharaman. The honorable President of India Droupadi Murmu expressed her hope for a productive debate between the opposition and the government in this budget session which began today.
This budget session will end on 9th February as per the schedule. This interim budget 2024, is expected to play a crucial role in 2024 lokshabha election with the Modi government focusing on four categories emphasized by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi: women, youth, poor and farmers. It is anticipated that these four groups will be on the priority list in the interim budget 2024. In 2023, the union finance minister introduced “Saptarishi”, the top seven priority list to aim development of all sectors in our society.
Several sources claimed that the income tax structure may be redefined and the tax payable limit may increase to 3 lakh from the old tax payable limit of 2.50 lakh. Modification in the PM Kishan Yojona scheme is also expected to boost our farmers. The amount in PM Kishan Yojona may increase to 8000 per month, which is currently is 6000 per month.
Another notable health insurance scheme of the central government, the Ayushman Bharat scheme is expected to undergo modifications in the Interim Budget 2024. It is anticipated that the sum amount of this scheme may be doubled, increasing from 5 lakh to 10 lakh. There is also a possibility of announcing new rural development schemes in this budget potential increased the funds for the MNREGA scheme.
The Indian economy has surged to 5th position in last ten years and Modi government aimed to achieve the 3rd position in next five years. This interim budget 2024 is expected to showcase robust finance planning to support this ambitious goal.
