The primary objective of this scheme is to provide skill enhancement opportunities to refine the abilities of artisans and craftspeople, along with making suitable training opportunities accessible to them. The artisans and craftspeople of the country will receive support for acquiring modern tools through this scheme, thereby enhancing their productivity and the quality of their products.

This scheme will allow the beneficiaries to access collateral free loans and other financial facilities which will allow them to expand their business. Moreover, they will be provided with a platform for brand promotion and market linkages to facilitate business growth. Another key objective of this scheme is to promote digital transactions among artisans and craftspeople, empowering them digitally in line with the nation’s digitalization efforts.

Eligible Criteria for PM Vishwakarma Yojana :

  1. Artisans and craftspeople working with hands and tools, involved in any of the 18 trades specified in the scheme, are eligible for registration.
  2. Those engaged in the unorganized sector on a self-employment basis in any of the 18 trades mentioned in the scheme are eligible for registration under the PM Vishwakarma Yojana.
  3. The minimum age requirement for beneficiaries is 18 years at the time of registration.
  4. The beneficiary engaged in the mentioned trades should not have availed loan under similar credit based scheme to be eligible for registration in this scheme.
  5. Individuals in government service and their family members are not eligible under this scheme.
  6. Only one member per family engaged in the specified trades is eligible for registration under the PM Vishwakarma Yojana.
  7. Essential documents required for registration under the PM Vishwakarma Yojana scheme include: Aadhaar Card, Voter Identity Card, Active Mobile Number, Proof of Occupation, Income Certificate, and Bank Account Details.

Eligible Trades : Artisans and craftspeople engaged in 18 family-based trades are eligible for the scheme. These trades include Carpenters, Potters, Masons, Goldsmiths, Cobblers, Barbers, Stone Breakers, Washer men, Tailors, and more.

How to avail the PM Vishwakarma Yojana :  An eligible artisan or craftsperson involved in the aforementioned home-based trades should visit the government website (https://pmvishwakarma.gov.in/) to register for the PM Vishwakarma Scheme. A four step registration process is applicable for PM Vishwakarma Yojana and step wise details are given below:

Step 1 : Do your mobile and Adhaar kyc verification

Step 2: Fill up artisan registration form carefully and input your details such name/caste/adhaar number/occupation/Date of Birth and other important details

Step 3: Review your form minutely before submission.

Step 4: Upload scan copies of all necessary documents (adhaar card, voter ID card, Occupation proof, Bank documents) as mentioned in official website.

Step 5: Submit your form and write down the application ID for future correspondence.

Step 6: Download PM Viswakarma digital ID and certificate and apply for components.

 

What is Vishwakarma Yojana

 

Benefits of PM Vishwakarma Yojana : The primary advantage of the scheme is to link artisans and craftspeople with broader business markets. The details of the benefits are as below :

  • Training opportunities for skill enhancement and recognition through Viswakarma certificate and ID card.
  • Basic skill training for 5-7 days (40 hours) to enhance existing skills. Interested person can enroll themselves for advanced training for 15 days (120 hours).
  • All beneficiary enrolled for the training will get INR 500 per day as stipend during the training period.
  • A grant of INR 15,000.00 will be entitled to all beneficiary post completion of the training as tool kit incentive.
  • Collateral free development loan for INR 1 Lakh in first tranche with 18 months repayment and INR 2 Lakh in second tranche for 30 months repayment. Credit guarantee fees to be borne by the Government of India.
  • National Committee for Marketing (NCM) will provide services such branding and promotion, e-commerce linkage, publicity and other marketing activities.
  • The beneficiary will be benefitted with Rs.1/ per digital transactions for maximum 100 transactions in a month.
