Sarfaraz Khan got the debut test cap from legendary cricketer Anil Kumble just before the third test match against England in Rajkot. This opportunity came relatively late in his international cricket career, considering his consistent performance in first-class cricket. Sarfaraz Khan began his cricketing journey under the supervision of his father, Mr. Naushad Khan who represented Mumbai in domestic cricket.

Sarfaraz represented Mumbai at the initial stage of his cricket career, and later he switched to Uttar Pradesh after the 2014-15 season due to the suspension by the MCA (Mumbai Cricket Association) for fudging his age. However, after rectifying the discrepancy and returning to Mumbai Cricket Team in the 2019-20 season, he has consistently impressed experts with his genuine talent. Sarfaraz relentlessly pursued his dreams, showcasing exceptional performance and consistently scoring runs in first class cricket.
